It feels as if the muscles are very tense, almost paralyzed and a little bit numb too. My bowel also seems to seize and contract, as if I will have diarrhea, but it doesn't seem to happen. I first noticed this happen when I was very young, probably 12. It gas happened since then but very rarely, and today it happened again after I ate some soup from a Chinese restaurant. I felt the reaction almost instantly, probably because I had eaten on an empty stomach. I was curious as to why this was happening, so I did some research and came to find I probably have a sensitivity to MSG.

Re: MSG Symptoms

After eating a marinated skirt steak , I felt ok. Drank a lot of water that evening and the next morning I had the worst throbbing head ache that has lasted for two days so far. The back of my neck and lower skull, my temples, back of the head all feel this enormus pressure.

My father-in-law reacted with an upset stomach the next day. Over dose of MSG.

Re: MSG Symptoms

I had a reaction that included the fact that the food had cream sauce so maybe different symptoms but here's what I experienced:
muscle and joint pain
migraine
heart palpatations
chest pain
tightness in my throat
dry mouth
body chills (temperature dropped to 98.4)
stomach cramps
nausea
day two still feel weak, headache and no appetite

Re: MSG Symptoms

MSG makes me go to sleep, and I cannot control it. I get extremely tired and my eyes will not stay open, I do not remember where I am and how I got home, I cannot stay awake no matter how I may try. My body aches, I am dizzy, thirsty, headache. But the worst is not being able to stay awake.

Those are the biggest threats to health here, the reason that our honey has been banned in Europe is GMO contamination.
We encourage, contribute, grow and buy from organic cooperatives, the consciensusness is finally on the raise about agrotoxics, like glyphosate and Fipronil, but the country is just full of it - no regulations at all.
The results of 15 years of the Monsanto model in Argentina is - most similar to get you an idea - the kind of monstrous deformations in fetuses and children, all kinds of cancers and a lot of other health problems - to that of Agent Orange.

Thanks for the hint about pets, we are working on that too, besides the precarious situation for poor children and rural workers.

I have experienced the headaches before, but last night I was in for the ride of my life. I had a very unsettled sleep with nightmarish episodes all night long. In the morning i felt as if I had a major hangover, migraine similar headache, unsteady gait. I stayed in bed for most of the morning, then finally got up & ate a little, had some coffee & began to feel a little better. I'll never have chinese again without asking about the MSG. I would also like to know if my thyroid (lack there of) would have exacerbated this?

Re: Shocking Discovery: Free or Almost No Cost Joint Pain Relief

Nice One...

Re: MSG Symptoms

My husband and I ate at an asian restaurant, It was a very fresh one so all I thought of was healthy - not even asking about additives. I had to leave before we finishes due to sudden nausea, and felt overheated. I layed down on the curb in the shade, not making it to the car. I believe msg was to blame. He then in 10 minutes felt the same and a feeling of spinning as if we were drunk. After that we both were very shaky feeling for the next hour or so. Dang msg poisoning us. Why must it be in all fast food, and this was way over the top... Guess Ill have to cook all of my meals from no on...too scary to eat out.

Re: Why is Pee Yellow?
Why Does Beer Go Through You So Fast?

Yeaaaa.

Someone else recommended this page on StumbleUpon and it came up in my stumbling.

Re: MSG Symptoms

Several hours after 1 plate of very small servings at a Chinese buffet, I began experiencing shoulder and neck tightness, then pain and muscle spasms that began slowly to rise to the top of my head and wrap around to my temples, then back over my ears also. I had stinging sensations on my arms and feet - like stinging mosquito bites with no visible signs, only the sensations of stinging pain. Along came dizziness that progressed to a needing to hold the walls type of vertigo that then progressed to needing to stay totally immobile on my back or risk waves of nausea with room spinning type of vertigo.

Emotional uneasiness and brain fog with awareness of the headache and vertigo but no ability to connect the dots to the meal I had eaten, until resolution began about 36 hours later. I also had leg aching in the thighs and knees and an anxiety that this was something I might need further medical diagnosis and treatment for if symptoms progressed or fever began. No fever or generalized malaise came so I knew it was not a virus or infection although extreme total fatigue and sleepiness overwhelmed me for over 24 hours.

Of all things, when I took my daily 100 mg of elemental iodine the next morning with 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt about 15 minutes later, ALL these distressing symptoms rapidly started to clear after I had a profuse sweating for about 15+ minutes. At that point I began to realize I had been experiencing a truly toxic reaction that was most likely MSG induced. So I called the restaurant and was informed that they had used MSG in two of the foods I had chosen at their buffet.

The spokesperson said they were sorry I was allergic to corn. I said that was NOT the problem here as MSG, as it is made in the United states, is a potent excito-toxin that can cause serious reactions in many people, even those not allergic to corn. He was surprised to hear this and said he would talk to the owner of the restaurant about this information..... yeah and I will hold my breath for the answer of the owner.....not!.

Re: MSG Symptoms

Wow. The problem is that MSG is in so many foods. Some more than others. The antidote is NAC or N-acetylcysteine. If you know you will be going out and exposed to it, taking this before the meal will help. Likewise, you can take it after and get relief. Also take vitamin C with it.

You will not need to take it every day however.

Re: MSG Symptoms

When I eat at a chinese place, my ankles swell, my knees lock up and I get a headache. My ankles and knees stay swollen for days. I did not realize that MSG's are related to salt and I am alergic to iodine. No more chinese for me and I will be watching my MSG's from now on..

Re: N-Acetylcysteine Side Effects of the NAC Glutathione Potentiator

This is great. Now if you want to take it to the next level, start using the water cure. It will eliminate the need for NAC. I still use NAC but only as a rescue med, say, when I am exposed to MSG when we are out to dinner.

Go to http://www.GlutathioneDiseaseC... to learn more about the water cure. I am just getting started with it. It has helped me to loose over 30 pounds so far. Best of all, it is free.

Tested for asthma copd, reflux and nasal drip. None were diagnosed. Lung specialist labelled as atypical cough. No solution offered. Saw reference to NAC N-acetly-L cysteine in a medical health book. I have been taking 2--600mg/day for 3 months now with major reduction of chronic cough, despite exercising more. Occasional reflux hearburn if taken without a full meal only side effect.

Re: Simple All Natural AntiAging, If…

Much has been written about other tropical fruits and their antioxidant capacity. However, the well-known blueberry is another powerful fruit that is full of antioxidant power.
